R.e. the importance of Google My Business (aka Google Map) reviews for your ecommerce and / or physical business in search results. Note that dataforseo .com's SERP Volatility Index (November 2024) states that 1/5 business related search results on Google USA contain the “local (map) pack” of 3 Google Business Profiles (aka Map listings) at time of writing. Their report for Google UK states almost 1/4 Google Search results contains a local pack integrated into search results.
Note that customer reviewers are allowed to use pseudonyms (which would be the name next to the review) to create a Google Account which they may want to do to post an “anonymous review” on the Google Mp : it may be worthwhile to remind customers of that: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6317876?hl=en .
From my test sending a customer a Google Maps review link by Whatsapp, text message or Gmail email to an Android device logged in with a Google Account (which is required for downloading apps) opens the ‘logged in’ review form directly in the default browser (Chrome) which means to leave a review can take a only few seconds. Easy peasy!
